Solid understanding of MySQL Database concepts, strong administration experience, and excellent interpersonal communication skills are required.

Responsibilities
- Design, architect, build and continuously develop highly available database infrastructure.
- Focus primarily on the design, development, and administration on MySQL/SQL server databases.
- Assist in the setup or testing of development databases.
- Provide database solutions based on technical documents and business requirements.
- Create logical and physical database models as per the business requirements.
- Develop database functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to support application development.
- Customize queries to respond to customer data analytics requirements.
- Optimize database systems for performance and reliability.
- Perform database maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
- Monitor and provide technical assistance to resolve all database issues related to performance, security, capacity, and access.
- Ensure data integrity and quality in database systems.
- Maintain standard policies for database development activities.
- Prepare documentations regarding database design, configuration and change management tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a DBA, Database Engineer, or similar role is required.
- Broad and deep knowledge of at least 2 relational databases including Oracle, PostgreSQL & MySQL.
- Experience with non-relational database technologies as well.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services such as RDS, Redshift, DynamoDB, IAM, EC2, S3, CLI, SDK; Microsoft Azure; IBM; Google Cloud Platform; and more.
- Proficiency coding in UNIX shell and SQL, and at least one procedural language such as Python, Ruby, Java, Perl, C++.
- Excellent speaking-listening-writing skills, attention to details, proactive self-starter.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience designing and implementing databases including:
– Relational databases
– NoSQL databases (document databases)
– Indexed storage (AWS DynamoDB)
– Experience with AWS C2S in customer environment
– Experience with Kubernetes clusters
– Cross-domain interpersonal communications
- Experience developing cloud software services and an understanding of design for scalability, performance and reliability
- Understanding of software design principles and computer science fundamental
- Experience architecting complex, scalable, cloud-based systems
- Administer, maintain, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the application
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs at scale
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment
- Experience managing software code using Git, MAVEN, OpenStack, and Jenkins
- Passion for hosted large data, highly scalable services. We would love to hear about solutions and systems you’ve developed.
- Development experience defining, developing and maintaining web service API’s
- Passion for cutting edge technologies, drive, and ability to quickly learn new concepts
